Confessions of a forger. The Hidden World of the Art Market

Art forgeries are everywhere, in museums, exhibition halls, galleries. Why? Because forgeries are made with the complicity of the artists themselves (sometimes), through the collusion of the deceased artists' families (very often), and with the connivance of experts and gallery owners the world over (all the time). Eric Piedoie Le Tiec was a forger for 30 years and spent 10 years behind bars. In this extraordinary story of one of the main forgers of the last forty years, we discover the hidden world of the art market. Miró, Toulouse-Lautrec, Dufy, Chagall, Arman... and above all César, all the great masters pass through. The undisputed king of forgery created thousands of forgeries—of all the great masters—enriching many art dealers. “Everyone knew what we were doing, in Nice, Copenhagen, New York, Antwerp, Shanghai, but everyone kept quiet because there was a lot of money to be made.” The art racket finally exposed! Eric Piedoie Le Tiec, 63 years old, is today a gallery owner and art dealer in Grasse, on the French Riviera. This audiobook is read by a synthesized voice.
